The LokTech Fellowship program is established against this backdrop with an aim to collaborate with tech enthusiasts who would be working together with us on innovative solutions for advancing democracy. The Fellowship is an immersive 11 months leadership development program which would give an opportunity to the young professionals to work on big data projects and experience professional growth through Lok Sabha 2024 project.

Some of our work includes ERP systems for a National political party, CRM for contact & data management, Al based voice call & chat applications, Mobile Apps for cadre management, auto mapping data sets via learning algorithms, survey tools, and a lot many products.
Our fellowship program offers a unique opportunity for technology professionals who share our vision to work alongside top most political stakeholders who are actively making politics work for democracy. Team Jarvis will be working on some of the most advanced & biggest election campaigns using Tech & data capabilities for upcoming General Elections 2024.

KEY AREAS OF WORK

Program Management
Taking care of the long-term program strategy and success metrics. Introducing programs into existing systems. Directing project managers and linking day projects to larger programs.
IT Product Management
Working on products and identifying the organization & user needs and the larger business objectives that a product or feature will fulfil, articulating what success looks like for a product, and rallies a team to turn that vision into a reality
Data Management & Strategy
Developing effective strategy for collection, mapping and utilization of various sets of data. Analyzing voter behaviour, polling data, and other relevant information to help team make informed decisions
Stakeholder Engagement
Working closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders, manage engagement with one or possibly more depending on the scale of the project. Manage stakeholder mapping and prepare communications to stakeholders and respond to stakeholder enquiries. Provide briefings and support to technical teams post meetings with stakeholders. Attend client-facing meetings, collaborative planning meet-ups and report to clients on progress.
Campaign Strategy & execution
Fellows will be responsible for developing the overall campaign strategy, which involves identifying the key issues and messages that resonate with client ideas and creating a timeline for the campaign and finally setting goals.

WHAT A FELLOW WOULD EXPERIENCE

The fellows will be an integral part of the election management team, and will actively experience world’s biggest festival of democracy, first-hand; also, contributing to developing and strengthening the program. The fellow will be responsible for executing and supporting the day-to day operations of the LokTech Fellowship Program. They will be responsible for creating short term and long term campaign strategies for various programs for achieving goals in accordance to the party needs and will also look after managing multiple stakeholders (both internal and external) for ensuring smooth execution of campaigns. Coordinating and meeting logistics for multiple work groups, the Fellows will have a challenging task of defining KPIs, KRAs, short term and long term targets along with the company’s leadership and also looking after its achievement/review on a weekly and monthly basis.​

3 STAGE SELECTION PROCESS

Application
Through web form along with resume, statement of purpose and essay.
Technical
Candidates shortlisted based on their resume, application essay & SOP will be allotted tasks for evaluating their technical competency: Operations Track - Case study analysis, report submission, video essay Tech & Data Track - Technical development task.
Interview
Shortlisted candidates from the technical round will be invited for virtual interviews with Jarvis Team.

Fellowship Structure

  • Orientation
    Fellows will be trained in a comprehensive manner to build their capacity and make them ready for the role.
  • Week 13
  • Mid Term Townhall
    Fellows convene for their mid year forum where holistic synthesis of the half year will take place with multiple sessions and planning for the next half of the fellowship tenure.
  • Week 37
  • Convocation
    After the completion of the elections, Fellows will reconvene for a weekend to share their learnings of participating in the Indian elections followed by a closing ceremony with certificates for fellows.
  • Week 01
  • Mini Forum 1
    After 12 weeks of fieldwork, Fellows will reconvene for a weekend to synthesize their work, learn & exchange from their peers & attend specific training sessions.
  • Week 25
  • Mini Forum 2
    Another brief forum will be held before the commencement of the elections to take stock of the progress & brainstorm on the plan of fellows for the elections.
  • Week 45

COMPETENCIES THAT A FELLOW MUST POSSESS

TECH & DATA SIDE

  • A Bachelor of Engineering from Tier I college and/or MBA from premier B school.
  • Have experience of at least 8+ years and have led sizeable team(s).
  • Should have worked directly on tech products.
  • Have worked in or with data science teams closely on large data sets, data mining, creating ML algorithms, data visualization etc.
  • Extensive experience in software development and architecture.
  • Experience with data management and processing at scale.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.

OPERATIONS SIDE

  • Having experience of at least 8+ years of working, start-up experience would be an added advantage.
  • Bachelors from Tier I college and/or MBA from premier B school.
  • Must have handled a team size of more than 100, have worked on large scale projects.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft office (especially excel) and other monitoring tool.
  • Have experience in setting up processes for agile workflows and defining KPIs, KRAs for multidimensional tasks.
  • Must be skilled in studying past and current political campaigns or elections and keep up with political happenings and trends across the country.
  • Flexible to travel as and when required.
  • Leadership skills are critical to managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

TECH & DATA SIDE

  • Bachelor of Engineering from Tier I college and/or MBA from premier B school.
  • Have experience of at least 5+ years and have led sizeable team(s).
  • Should have worked directly on tech products with a large user-base or data-base.
  • Have worked in or with data science teams closely on large data sets, data mining, creating ML algorithms, data visualization etc.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, OLAP and OLTP would be preferable.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to mentor and lead junior team member.

OPERATIONS SIDE

  • Having experience of at least 5+ years of working, start-up experience would be an added advantage.
  • Bachelors from Tier I college and/or MBA from premier B school.
  • Must have handled a team size of more than 50, have worked on large scale projects.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft office (especially excel) and other monitoring tools.
  • Have experience in setting up processes for agile workflows and defining KPIs, KRAs for multidimensional tasks.
  • Must be skilled in studying past and current political campaigns or elections and keep up with political happenings and trends across the country.
  • Flexible to travel as and when required.

TECH & DATA SIDE

  • Relevant of at least 2+ years and have led sizeable team(s).
  • Should have worked with IT & products team before.
